Parents,
We had a 4th and 5th grade celebration this afternoon. Your students took an opportunity to share what they enjoyed the most during our reading and math groups. I was so touched to hear how much your students are enjoying reading, writing and even phonics! During our celebration your student were able to "spend" their classroom money on a fun auction. If your student comes home with a new folder, highlighters, crayons or little toy you do not recognize, it came from our auction today!
I want you to know how difficult it is to say good-bye to your amazing children for the summer. I have learned as much from them as they have from me! I am especially sad to say farewell to our 5th graders and hope that they continue to carry their amazing work ethic and positive attitudes with them onto 6th grade and beyond.
Parents, thank you so much for an incredible year. Your communication with me on all levels has helped to strengthen your child and I hope you know how much I appreciate it!
As we wind the school year down next week I will be spending more time in the classrooms supporting students there rather than pulling them into my room for reading and math. Watch out for letters that I will be sending home with the students on Monday. Thank you again for an amazing year. I look forward to seeing our current 4th graders come back next Fall!

Leaders In Action!
I would like to give a great big "THANK YOU" to Mr. Rayburn and Mr. Adams for helping me figure out a bulletin board for our hall! Mr. Rayburn moved a bulletin board today to our hallway to help us prepare to display our "Leaders In Action" writing!
"I Am a Leader" writing is coming your way this week. Parents, please stop by and see how your child is a leader in their school and in our community. I am so proud of the amazing work they have done on these writing assignments! I hope you will stop by and read their comments on how they are leaders and who has been an example in their life.

Ask your child about "Potato Day!"
Parents,
I hope your child came home excited about a fun day we had last Thursday....."Potato Day!" All reading, comprehension, word work and writing activities were centered around potatoes! We had our "regular" potatoes in the classroom as well as a Purple Potato and a Sweet Yellow Potato. We also watched a short 2 minute video watching how potatoes are harvested. It was a great day and it was fun to watch your children get excited about learning!
